Campaign Name:
NSAG (The North Sea Action Group) coordinator Pat Gowen.
Campaign Objective:
The NSAG campaigns to protect and maintain the marine and coastal environment of the East Anglian area, and is in function and practice effectively the local branch of MARINET.
Description of Campaign:
NSAG provides free information, advice and support to the media, individuals and groups threatened by marine and coastal issues and impacts mainly in the East Anglian area. Although the initial and only Marine Conservation group, it is now functions mainly as the local wing of MARINET. The group primarily covers the local erosive and environmental impact of Marine Aggregate Offshore Dredging, Bathing Water pollution, damage to the marine ecosytem and fish stocks, the governments damaging 'Managed Retreat' policies, the Shoreline (mis)Management Plan, Coastal Defences, Broadland salination and similar issues, on a more regional basis but in phase with MARINET as a parent organisation. As with MARINET, there is no membership fee.
The NSAG and MARINET offer talks, lectures and seminars, advice and information on the threats to East Anglia. No charge is made for talks, but travelling costs are always welcome.
What you can do?
Your participation in the campaign and your assistance by providing evidence of any local threats, by writing to the local press, alerting the media, joining in 'phone in programmes and generally bringing attention to the threat(s) facing East Anglia from dredging produced coastal erosion would be most welcome.
